It is the mission of the Southern Longrifle Association, LLC through the Southern Arms & Crafts Show
to promote the study, collection, recreation, and responsible use of antique and traditional American muzzle
loading firearms and accouterments as well as encourage the study and mastery of the related history, culture
and crafts. The purpose being to preserve these objects and the craft that produced them for future generations,
acknowledging that we are all merely caretakers of the fine objects in our possession. These rules and regulations
are to serve that end.
1. The focus of this show is pre-1840 firearms (and recreations thereof) and associated hand made crafts. Pre-1898
firearms (or recreations thereof) newer than 1840 that are considered antiques under the 1968 Federal Firearms Act
are allowed as long as they do not constitute the majority of the firearms on a table. The same goes for crafts
items. The majority of the crafts items on a table must be pre-1840 (or recreations thereof) and hand made. It
there is any disagreement as to the acceptability of an item or display, the judgement of the organizers in this
matter will be final.
2. All firearms should be checked to ensure that they are unloaded!
3. No powder, ammunition or other explosives will be allowed into the exhibition hall.
4. No alcohol or illegal drugs will be allowed in the exhibition hall.
5. No smoking will be allowed in the exhibition hall.
6. Please do not handle or photograph other exhibitors’ items without their express permission.
7. While the hotel will provide table clothes, we encourage all exhibitors to bring something to cover the front
of their tables.
8. We recommend that your exhibit be covered overnight and anytime your table will be unattended for an extended
period of time.
9. While we understand that not all table holders are able to be at the show during the full show hours, we do
encourage our table holders to refrain from packing up until the end of the show at 3PM on Sunday. That is why we
end early on Sunday.
10. Please remember that education and outreach is a primary mission of the show. You should be patient with
visitors, and respond to questions in positive ways that will reflect well on the show, the antique firearms
collector and the traditional crafts community.
